Defoamers

Defoamers, antifoaming operators, and air release agents are chemical processing aids applied to modify or reduce foam in manufacturing processes. While the phrases are often employed reciprocally, they use different mechanisms, so it is worth admiring between them.

Defoamers are foam controller agents which are added to a system to decrease or reduce foam after it has been formed.

Antifoaming representatives are foam controller agents which are added to an arrangement or formulation to prevent the appearance or emergence of foam.

Air release agents help remove entrained gases from a solution and raise them to the surface.

These categories are not strictly commonly exclusive. For example, many artificial formulations both block and suppress foam, in which case they could be distributed both as antifoaming agencies and defoamers. Additionally, several defoamers have some effect on entrained air, while some air release agents initiate the destabilization method for covering foam.

For the sake of innocence, the name “defoamer” is generically adopted as a business measurement referencing any processing treatment produced to control foam.
